About the Conference
Welcome to the 16th annual UF/IFAS FSHN Master of Science-Dietetic Internship Program Conference! Our theme this year is "Food as Medicine". This conference provides attendees with the opportunity to learn about the use of food and nutrition in the treatment and management of glycogen storage disease; the use of prebiotics and probiotics in health and disease; and omega 3 fatty acids and their effects on diabetes. This conference is designed to provide registered dietitians/nutritionists, licensed dietitians/nutritionists, dietetic technicians registered, and other food and nutrition professionals an opportunity to earn continuing education units, learn about food and nutrition products/services from conference exhibitors, and network with nutrition and dietetic professionals. Guests who attend this year's conference can receive three continuing professional education units approved by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). A complimentary lunch and light refreshments will be provided.
Two years ago, the MS-DI Class of 2012 initiated a new aspect to the conference by conducting a food drive benefiting a local nonprofit organization. We want to continue to support community agencies and the people they serve by asking you to donate food items to the Food4Kids Backpack Program of North Florida. Click the "Food4Kids" link below to learn more about this amazing organization.
